Warsaw

AS few more days in Poland, but in the capital city. It exceeded my expectations and I found it to be an excellent place. And my respect and admiration for Poland as a country ballooned. I saw lots of great things, so choosing one image for the featured image just couldn’t do it justice.

A view from the excellent Museum of Warsaw. Every building you can see was rebuilt almost from scratch after WWII, because Hitler was so enraged by the uprising in 1944, he ordered Warsaw to be razed to the ground, and 80% of it was totally destroyed. They spent a lot of time and effort to miraculously recreate the Old Town almost exactly as it had been before. And you’d never know by looking inside or out.
Even in 2026, they are still rebuilding and restoring places back to their historical origins. Amazing.
