Shelter – Stormtrooper

Shelter – Stormtrooper.

Why

The first exterior damage to the shelter was ugly and rude, so it had to go. Time to bring out the decent artwork.

Inevitable ugly vandalism

When

June 2013.

Where

On the field opposite my house.

Shelter Stormtrooper location.

Materials / Media

Paper stencil, paints.

Production

Quite a lot of computer, printing, taping and cutting time.

The Stormtrooper graphic I managed to whittle down to three colours and that took a few hours itself.

Printed and stuck together ahead of much scalpel cutting.
Different levels of stencil were needed for the black, white and grey (although I had to use silver).
This was deceptively complicated.

Execution

Various trips with flapping loose stencil in various stages that I had to tape in place before any slightest breeze knacked it all up.

Notes

Worked well enough, and I liked the results.

In progress.

Duration & Fate

The first big daub of red paint wasn’t until May 2015. It was repaired but ruined by further paint and was rendered FUBAR by September 2015.

May 2015. Bad, but not beyond repair.
September 2015. Yeah…it’s ruined.
