Custard

Deceased

Girlfriend MC came with a Custard the Cat and Jelly the Dog. I’ve never been much of a cat person, but Custard was nice enough. Custard went off to live with MC after we split up. Died about 2015.

Jelly

Deceased

My girlfriend’s 7yr old dog Jelly was instantly welcome in my life, and it was sometimes suggested that I loved the dog more than my new girlfriend. Even when times were good it would most often have been true.
Saying goodbye to Jelly at the end of her life in January 2012 was one of the most painful experiences I’ve had. My girlfriend and I were devastated.

Having to say goodbye to a dog is one of the most difficult things ever.

Hera

Six months after having lost Jelly, we wanted a new dog. We went to the Dog’s Trust and saw a young puppy that had been found abandoned wandering streets in some part of Leeds. “Betty” would soon be ours and have her name changed to “Hera” after the mythical Greek Goddess.
Hera has been one of the best things to ever happen to me and has been massively important. I think she is beautiful and I adore her. If Hera understood what I was saying, she would probably be fed up of me constantly telling her these things.
Hera has been a great companion through thick and thin.
Hera’s favourite things are taking a ball out with her on walks and meeting people. Although most people like her too, she doesn’t seem to understand if anyone is disinterested in meeting her. I mean, how rude!

The extent to which I love this dog should not be underestimated.
